are. >> we tried to contact the oakland police department this weekend if a comment on this case. the department has yet to respond. >> gas prices are finally starting to drop. the latest survey finds the average price of a gallon dropped six cents, the first decrease in prices since late december. the national average is now $3.69 a gallon but in california, the average is $4.17 a gallon and in the bay area higher at $4.22, down three cents from last week. >> a fiery spectacle in san francisco at pier 15 for the new building that drew a big crowd. >> on the chance you have never seen a 23 foot foot metal octopus spewing fire, here it

richmond, and walnut creek at 42 and pleasanton at 41 and antioch at 46 and union city, 44. in the south bay dress for 45 headed outdoor and san jose and cooler in cupertino at 41 and mountain view is 47, and morgan hill is 42 and gilroy is 39, and in the north bay temperatures are mostly in the upper 30's with petaluma and novato at 39. napa is at 40. sausalito is the warm spot at 44 degrees. the high clouds and sunshine as much as we had yesterday, and temperatures today are a couple of degrees warmer than yesterday and the warmth will build through wednesday with a cooler weekend on the way as the inside slider misses up with precipitation and it will bring snow to the sierra and drop our temperatures closer to where they should be. here is the dominant area of high pressure with the gesturing to our north diving into the rocky mountains and it will keep us sunny and spring like throughout the next three to four days.

down in the santa clara valley, low-to-mid 70's, 72 today, and morgan hill and gilroy 74 along with los gatos and upper 60's to low 70's for the peninsula and redwood city is the warm spot at 71 and low 60's along the coast today to mid-and-upper 60's for downtown and south san francisco and sausalito, and north bay benches low 60's for you and low-to-mid 70's and ten degrees warmer in the valley and along the east bay shore we will get close to 70 everywhere and oakland we make it and we head to the east bay valley, 69 san ramon and everyone else in the low-to-mid 70's, pleasanton, livermore, concord and brentwood at 74. tonight, low-to-mid 40's inland, and mid-to-upper 40's with patchy fog again possible up in the north bay valley and we will see how long it will last and how warm it will get. tomorrow, a couple of degrees warmer. wednesday, mid-70's to near 80 degrees away from the coast. we will hang out in the mid-60's. you can see the temperatures

drop a little bit on thursday and friday and more so on saturday and sunday and dry through the weekend. have a great day. sue? >> going back to the san mateo bridge we have first reports of a stall westbound on the incline section so you may see a few brake lights as you turn toward the high-rise. it is in the right lane, a stall, westbound, on the san mateo bridge and it could gum it up a bit so we will watch it. otherwise the east shore freeway, westbound, 80 on the macarthur maze, is looking good this morning, just a few headlights streaming through and back to road work as you make your way to the fremont area, we do have north 680 between south mission and north mission three lanes are blocked until 6:00 this morning and oakland, north 880, 66 to high those lanes are blocked for 15 minutes or so, until 5:00. >> 4:47. military drills are underway between the united states and south korea with north korea threatening a nuclear war. the north claims the annual military exercise is in preparation for an invasion with

10,000 south korean troops. 3,000 american troops are also going to be part of the drill. last week the u.n. voted to impose more sanctions against the north after a recent nuclear test by pyongyang. >> in afghanistan, two united states troops and three afghan police officers are dead after another afghan officer opened fire inside a police station this morning. this comes as defense secretary hagel is disputing accusations that the united states is working with the taliban to show that violent in afghanistan would worsen once the military coalition pulls out. hagel met privately with afghan's president karzai to discuss key issues and hagel understands where the two countries stands and says the united states understands that karzai faces political pressures as the war winds down. this is hagel's first visit to afghanistan at defense secretary. >> the suspect in a gang rape and murder that sparked
